Sonoma County Has Dropped in Ownership Residential Property by 3.7%, (2010 Census)

The 2010 Census reports Sonoma County, California decreased in number of dwellings by 21,419, or 12%, (since the 2000), while the State of California increased in housing units by 1,465,532, or 11%.

Measured against the US, Sonoma County has a very high amount of unoccupied real estate units. 18,747, or 9.2%, of residential units are vacant in Sonoma County, California. Among the 18,747 unoccupied units, 11.4% are listed for sale, while 21.4% are reported as being listed for rented.

                                     

Owner-occupied units from 2000 to 2010 in Sonoma County have decreased by 3.7%. In 2010, there were 112,280 (60.4%) owner-occupied housing units, while there were 73,545 (39.6%) residential properties were being rented.
