Lemhi County Has shrunk in Terms of Ownership of Real Estate by 2.0%, From 2000 to 2010

The 2010 Census reports Lemhi County, Idaho decreased in number of total housing units by 575, or 14%, (since the 2000 census), during the same time, the State of Idaho increased in total real estate dwellings by 139,972, or 21%.

When compared to the United States, Lemhi County has a low amount of unoccupied real estate units. 1,153, or 24.4%, of residential units are vacant in Lemhi County, Idaho. Of the 1,153 unoccupied units, 6.2% are the market to be sold, while 7.7% are reported as being listed for rented.

                                     

From 2000 to 2010, housing units occupied by owners in Lemhi County have decreased by 2.0%. Reported in the 2010 Census, there were 2,650 (74.1%) residential properties occupied by owner, while 926 (25.9%) housing units were leased. Lemhi County has a smaller portion of rental units than the State of Idaho, which the Census reported had 30.1% of units rented.
