Carroll County Has Escalated in Residential Real Estate Ownership by 1.3%, From 2000 to 2010, According to the 2010 Census

The 2010 Census reports Carroll County, Illinois decreased in number of dwellings by 492, or 6%, since 2000. During the same period, the State of Illinois increased in residential properties by 411,100, or 8%.

Compared to the US, Carroll County has a medium level of vacancy in housing units. 1,815, or 21.5%, currently are unoccupied in Carroll County, Illinois. Among these 1,815 vacant housing units, 8.0% are listed to be sold, while 10.0% are listed for lease.

                                     

Between 2000 and 2010, residential properties occupied by owners in Carroll County have increased by 1.3%. The 2010 Census reports there were 5,163 (78.0%) owner-occupied residential properties, while there were 1,459 (22.0%) housing units were being rented. Carroll County has a smaller amount of rentals than the State of Illinois, which saw 32.5% of units rented.
