Monroe County Has Improved in Ownership Residential Property by 1.5%, According to the 2010 Census

Recently reported by the 2010 Census, Monroe County, Illinois decreased in number of dwellings by 2,643, or 25%, (since the 2000 census), during the same time, the State of Illinois increased in housing dwelling units by 411,100, or 8%.

Compared against the United States, Monroe County has a low level of vacancy in residential real estate. 803, or 6.0%, are currently vacant in Monroe County, Illinois. Between 2000 and 2010, owner-occupied housing units in Monroe County have increased by 1.5%.
