Ashtabula County Has Declined In Owner-Occupied Residential Real Estate by 2.3%, From 2000 to 2010, According to the 2010 Census

The recent 2010 Census Bureau reports Ashtabula County, Ohio decreased in number of total housing units by 2,307, or 5%, since the 2000 Census. At the same time, the State of Ohio increased in total housing units by 344,457, or 7%.

Measured against the United States, Ashtabula County has a low amount of unoccupied residential real estate. 6,736, or 14.6%, currently are unoccupied in Ashtabula County, Ohio. Within the 6,736 vacant properties, 12.5% are on the real estate market to be sold, while 18.6% are trying to be rented.

                                     

Between 2000 and 2010, owner-occupied housing units in Ashtabula County have decreased by 2.3%. By 2010, there were 28,269 (71.8%) owner-occupied housing units, while there were 11,094 (28.2%) residential properties were being rented. Ashtabula County has a smaller portion of rental units than the State of Ohio, which saw 32.4% of the housing units rented.
