Knox County Has Dropped in Terms of Housing Units Occupied by Owners by 3.2%, Since the Year 2000

The recent 2010 Census Bureau reports Knox County, Ohio decreased in housing units by 3,325, or 15%, (since the 2000 census), during the same time, the State of Ohio increased in housing units by 344,457, or 7%.

Compared to the US, Knox County has a low level of vacancy in residential housing. 2,511, or 10.0%, of housing units are currently vacant in Knox County, Ohio. Within these 2,511 vacant housing units, 13.3% are the market to be sold, while 21.3% are trying to be rented.

                                     

From 2000 to 2010, owner-occupied residential properties in Knox County have decreased by 3.2%. As reported in the 2010 Census, there were 16,390 (72.5%) owner-occupied units, while 6,217 (27.5%) housing units were leased. Knox County has a smaller portion of rented units than the State of Ohio, which saw 32.4% of units occupied by renters.
