Delaware County Has Fallen Off in Housing Ownership by 1.4%, According to the 2010 Census

The 2010 Census reports Delaware County, Oklahoma decreased in number of dwellings by 2,528, or 11%, since the 2000 Census. At the same time, the State of Oklahoma increased in total real estate dwellings by 149,978, or 9%.

Compared to the US, Delaware County has a low amount of unoccupied residential real estate. 7,725, or 31.1%, are currently vacant in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Among the 7,725 unoccupied housing units, 7.0% are the market to be sold, while 6.2% are listed in the rental market.

                                     

Owner-occupied units from 2000 to 2010 in Delaware County have decreased by 1.4%. The 2010 Census reports there were 13,295 (77.8%) residential properties occupied by owner, while 3,798 (22.2%) housing units were being rented.
