Kent County Has Fallen Off in Property Ownership by 0.1%, (2010 Census)

According to data from the 2010 Census, Kent County, Rhode Island decreased in housing units by 3,336, or 5%, since the 2000 Census-- the State of Rhode Island increased in residential properties by 23,551, or 5%.

Compared against the United States, Kent County has a low amount of vacant housing units. 5,056, or 6.9%, of residential units are vacant in Kent County, Rhode Island. Within the 5,056 unoccupied units, 15.9% are on the real estate market for sale, while 36.3% are properties that are available for rent.

                                     

Owner-occupied units from 2000 to 2010 in Kent County have decreased by 0.1%. Reported in the 2010 Census, there were 49,046 (71.4%) owner-occupied housing units, while there were 19,599 (28.6%) residential properties were being rented.
