Custer County Has Strengthened in Residential Property Ownership by 1.0%, According to the 2010 Census

According to data from the 2010 Census, Custer County, South Dakota decreased in total real estate dwellings by 1,004, or 28%, since the 2000 Census. At the same time, the State of South Dakota increased in housing units by 40,230, or 11%.

Measured against the United States, Custer County has a very low amount of unoccupied real estate units. 992, or 21.4%, are currently vacant in Custer County, South Dakota. Among these 992 unoccupied housing units, 8.1% are the market to be sold, while 11.2% are trying to be rented.

                                     

Owner-occupied units from 2000 to 2010 in Custer County have increased by 1.0%.
