Carter County Has Sank in Ownership Residential Property by 4.1%, From 2000 to 2010

According to data from the 2010 Census, Carter County, Tennessee decreased in number of dwellings by 1,826, or 7%, since the 2000 Census. At the same time, the State of Tennessee increased in housing units by 372,690, or 13%.

Measured against the United States, Carter County has a very low level of vacancy in residential housing. 3,549, or 12.8%, are currently vacant in Carter County, Tennessee.
