Hanover County Has Deteriorated in Ownership Residential Property by 1.8%, (2010 Census)

The 2010 Census reports Hanover County, Virginia decreased in total real estate dwellings by 6,164, or 19%, (since the 2000 census), during the same time, the State of Virginia increased in residential properties by 460,747, or 14%.

Measured against the US, Hanover County has a very low amount of unoccupied real estate units. 1,771, or 4.6%, of residential units are vacant in Hanover County, Virginia. Of these 1,771 vacant properties, 29.3% are on the real estate market for sale, while 21.4% are reported as being listed for rented.
