Grant County Has shrunk in Real Estate Ownership by 4.0%, According to the 2010 Census

The recent 2010 Census Bureau reports Grant County, Washington decreased in number of total housing units by 6,002, or 21%, (since the 2000), while the State of Washington increased in residential properties by 434,602, or 15%.

Measured against the United States, Grant County has a very low level of vacancy in residential housing. 5,042, or 14.4%, of properties are currently vacant in Grant County, Washington. Of these 5,042 unoccupied housing units, 8.0% are the market to be sold, while 18.8% are trying to be rented.

                                     

Owner-occupied units from 2000 to 2010 in Grant County have decreased by 4.0%. The 2010 Census reports there were 18,831 (62.7%) housing units occupied by owners, while 11,210 (37.3%) units were rented. Grant County has a greater portion of rental units than the State of Washington, which the Census reported had 36.1% of residential units occupied by renters.
